Brazilian Moresche Set to Bring Samba Magic to Geylang International Football Club
Brazil’s Matheus Moresche is set to bring all the hallmarks of his country’s famous football success to Geylang International Football Club (GIFC) after being unveiled as the club’s latest foreign signing today.
Moresche is considered one of the most promising players from Brazil, having started his career at Botafogo in Brazil before he moved to São Paulo to play for Corinthians where he won the Taça BH U17 competition.
He was subsequently called up to the Brazil Youth National Team where he represented his country at U-17 and U-20 level. The young Brazilian then moved back to his native city of Rio de Janeiro where he made his Brazilian Serie A debut at the age of 20 for Vasco da Gama in 2018.
Moreche is expected to spearhead GIFC’s attack as the club seeks to establish themselves as genuine contenders for the AIA Singapore Premier League title and also the AFC Cup, where it is making its return to the continental stage after 11 years.
“I’m really excited and looking forward to the start of the season with Geylang International Football Club. I’ve enjoyed much success in my professional career and I hope to achieve the same with my new teammates at Geylang,” said the 22-year-old.
Geylang International Football Club head coach, Noor Ali is delighted with the club’s latest signing and is confident Moresche will live up to the expectations of a Brazilian stalwart.
“He is a fantastic player on the ball, but what caught our eye is his willingness to work for the team. That is very important to the style of football we want to play, and I hope the fans are excited to see him in action,” said Ali.
