Abdil joins Eagles on permanent transfer

Abdil Qaiyyim has joined the Eagles on a permanent transfer as he looks to kick-start his career when the AIA Singapore Premier League 2021 season resumes in July.

The former Lion City Sailors’ centre-back will be aiming for regular first-team football under head coach Noor Ali, working together with the team to regain their place in the higher echelons of the league table.

Geylang International General Manager, Andrew Ang said: “We are pleased to welcome Abdil, who is an experienced and reliable centre-back and look forward to having him as part of the Eagles family.”

The 32-year-old Abdil is also excited with his next challenge with the Eagles and is confident he can help bolster the team’s defence and see them return to their winning ways.

“I’m excited to start another new chapter of my football career with Geylang International. I’m confident of my qualities which I’ll bring to the team and together, we will achieve more success,” said Abdil.
