Ilhan emerged from the Geylang International Centre of Excellence Under-15 team, and has remained with the Eagles since. His playing position has also evolved from full-back to centre-back over the years. Ilhan models his game after club captain Yuki Ichikawa, and hopes to read the game and make timely interceptions as well as his Japanese counterpart.
