More fans allowed to make their return to the stands

With the recent easing of COVID-19 control measures, a maximum of 500 fans will now be allowed entry at SPL matches, up from the current limit of 100. This will be further increased to 1,000 from Aug 19.

In order to gain entry to match venues, proof of having been fully vaccinated or a negative antigen rapid test (ART) will be required.

Vaccines currently recognised in Singapore are the Pfizer-BioNTech/Comirnaty and Moderna vaccines under the national immunisation programme, as well as those under the World Health Organization (WHO) emergency use listing. These include Sinovac, Sinopharm and AstraZeneca.

Vaccinated fans will only be able to enter match venues if the fixture takes place at least 14 days after they received their second dose.

Fans, who wish to enter using a negative ART result, must take the test at a practitioner certified by the Ministry of Health, and the result must be valid until the end of the match.

Eligible fans then need to purchase a physical ticket at a dedicated booth at each match venue, which will commence operations two hours prior to kick-off. Fans will need to retain their tickets for re-entry purposes.

Tickets will be priced at $10 for the match against Tanjong Pagar United. However, Eagles’ fans can sign up for Geylang International’s club memberships for $10. In return, they will receive a free GIFC EZ link card along with free entry to all remaining home matches at OTH.

Fans who enter will be subjected to safe-distancing protocols as well as the usual security protocols at matches, which include bag checks. As such, they are advised not to bring bags, as well as prohibited items, when attending the matches.

Fans are encouraged to arrive early to avoid crowding.  Social distancing shall be enforced in seating plans and allocation, all individuals are required to always wear their masks, and food and beverages will not be allowed into the stadiums. Musical instruments are not allowed into the stadium; banners and flags which do not contravene the security measures will be allowed into the stadium.

SPL fans will still be able to watch every match LIVE on broadcast at Singtel TV, StarHub TV and live streaming online via the SPL Facebook page and YouTube channel, as well as the Facebook page of 1 Play Sports.
