Noor Ali has been the head coach of Geylang International Football Club since June 2017. In just half a season in charge, Ali guided the Eagles to a first top-four finish in 14 years. Ali went on a one-year attachment with J-League side Matsumoto Yamaga, an affiliate club of GIFC in 2018. He earned the distinction of becoming the first Singaporean to coach a Japanese club and guided their B team to the Japan FA’s Under-18 Football League Nagano prefecture title. As part of his coaching philosophy, Ali has instilled a winning mentality and cohesive spirit within the team.
Mohamed Hanafiah Al-Sofli is the new head coach of Geylang International Football Club’s Women’s team for 2023. He holds the AFC ‘A’ Coaching Diploma and is Technical Director and Coach Developer of First Kick Academy. Hanafiah is a Coach Developer for the Football Association of Singapore, aiding in the training and development of coaches in Grassroots and AFC ‘C’ courses. He is also Head Coach of both the Women’s and Men’s Yale-NUS College faculty football teams, with the Women’s team winning championships in the NUS Inter-Faculty and Inter-College Games under his guidance. Hanafiah prioritizes creating a supportive environment and long-term player development.
