Kim completes move to Eagles
Geylang International has completed the signing of Australian midfielder Danny Kim from Australian A- League side, Brisbane Roar.
Coming from a football family where his father, Kim Pan-kuen was a former defender for South Korea and played in the 1994 FIFA World Cup, Danny is now relishing the challenges of playing in the Singapore Premier League.
“I’m super excited to be joining Geylang International and I cannot wait to step out onto the field with my new teammates. Hopefully with a couple of good results, we can push our way back up the table,” said the 23-year-old, who holds dual citizenship in South Korea and Australia.
Prior to his stint at Brisbane Roar, the former Under-17 Australian representative also played for Lions FC, which competes in the National Premier League, Queensland, the second tier of football under the A-League in Australia.
He was a key member of the team which finished as national runners-up in both the 2018 and 2019 seasons.
Head coach Noor Ali is pleased to welcome his new signing and looks forward to Kim’s contribution on the field.
“Danny is a very promising player and has played an influential midfield role in the clubs he has played for. We look forward to having him in our team and creating an impact when the season resumes,” said Noor.
