The rain stopped in time for the event to kick off at 5pm with four Under 12 kids teams playing against each other. The four teams comprise of Bedok Green A and B teams, GIFC U12 and Fengshan Primary team. The kids had a great time and supporters/parents enjoyed the entertaining football at times.
The highlight of the event was the exhibition match between Spore Ex-Intls and Kowloon Club Selection teams. It was a joy to see former greats and legends of Singapore coming out to support this meaningful event, the likes of Suriamurthy, Nasir Nazri, Ho Kwang Hock, Azahar Baksin, Md Noor Ali, Richard Bok and Rizal Hassan.
The Kowloon Club selection was not awed by the stars and gave a creditable performance on the pitch. The legends were made to work hard and eventually won 4-1.
The Kowloon Club Challenge Trophy was presented by another legend, Samad Alipitchay to the winning team!
Dance performances from People’s Association representing the ethnic groups followed suit and the evening was capped off by singing performances from Faith Pang (Chinese songs), Ms Christel (English songs) and the captivating Captain Amazing with his magical shows.
Truly it was a night to remember and GIFC is proud to be associated with this meaningful community outreach event.
