Player in Focus – Leonel Felice
By Eagles Admin on 2 October 2014
Silencing 80,000 supporters in a packed stadium. A feat not many footballers can brag about when they call time on their careers but Geylang International’s Leonel Felice will never forget the moment when a ball caressed sweetly by his right boot ended up in the back of the net from 20 yards away via a free-kick.
To add to the moment, it came in a prestigious match as Leonel represented Singapore football as part of the Singapore Selection squad to take on Malaysian side Selangor in the annual Sultan of Selangor’s Cup.
The Argentinian will be boosted by the experience and will be looking to continue his scoring spree against Woodlands Wellington. With already 11 goals to his name so far in the season, the remaining matches against teams from the lower half of the table give Leonel favourable opportunities to add to his tally.
A key trait to his game, is his outstanding hold up play which often brings his teammates into play which has resulted in the likes of Ridhuan Muhammad, Aliff Shafaein and Hafiz Nor all scoring from open play.
Against a Rams which has been leaking goals aplenty this season, Leonel Felice will look to surge further up the top scorers’ chart.
