Geylang International FC

Player in Focus – Fuad Ramli

With only a handful number of matches to go before the season draws to a close, one of head coach Jorg Steinebrunner’s agendas was to give more opportunities to players from Geylang International’s Prime League squad.

The youth side of the Eagles have done admirably well this season as they sit amongst the top four and one of the reasons for their progress has been influential playmaker, Fuad Ramli.

The player will be available for selection and is primed to play some part against the Rams. The pint-sized midfielder will also be in high spirits especially after a match winning performance last time out against Hougang United in the Prime League. Fuad’s brace helped the Eagles to come back from a goal down to overcome the opponents 2-1.

Fuad is also no stranger to scoring goals in senior competitions. Back in July, he came off the bench to net a superbly taken strike against Warriors FC in a 4-0 win.

After his first appearance in the league this season, Jorg Steinebrunner had sung his praises. He said: “He showed he was not scared or afraid of the league’s big boys.”

He continued: “He takes on players, he turns, and he goes towards the goal. He has few games left for us hopefully in the S.League.”

When Fuad takes to the pitch against Woodlands Wellington, hopes will be high but with the talent he has, Fuad Ramli may well be the next star to be born for the Eagles.
