Mike looks to correct individual errors

Mike Wong is pleased with performances of several players despite seeing the team go down 4-1 to Courts Young Lions at Jalan Besar Stadium earlier in the evening.
Two quick goals in the first 20 minutes saw Mike taking off former Arsenal Youth player Oliver Nicholas in the second half. Rhema Obed was pushed back into central defense to partner Shahril Alias, while newly promoted Zul Elhan Fahmie was sent into the anchorman role.
“There are some defensive errors today, individual errors to be exact. We have to work to correct them,” Mike commented. “Oliver did well against SAF last week, but wasn’t himself today.”
Mike expressed delight over contributions of new signings Michael King, Jozef Kaplan and Mathew Shiva. Jozef Kaplan scored a goal in the second half to narrow the score to 2-1, but the hosts extended their lead to 3-1 minutes later.
“Mathew likes to take the ball and run at opponent defenders, something that is quite rare among local players. And I thought it was quite a good performance,” said Mike.
Almost all the players were given a half an hour run-out, aside from a handful who played almost the full game.
