Match Preview: Warriors vs Geylang International
By Eagles Admin on 6 August 2013
After a combative display last weekend against a dangerous Albirex Niigata (S) side at Jurong East last weekend, Geylang International will now travel to Choa Chu Kang where a desperate Warriors FC team awaits.
Alex Weaver who took over from V Selvaraj may have solidified the team’s defences and have racked up one win, two draws and a defeat in their last 4 league games. Even then, the Warriors languish in 10th spot and 2 points behind the Eagles.
Alex Weaver will look towards the likes of Mislav Karoglan and Tatsuro Inui to deliver the goods against the Eagles.
Tonight though, Captain Jozef Kaplan returns from suspension and he will be hungry to lead the Eagles team alongside Stefan Milojevic who should be feeling much better for tonight’s game after playing through a fever last Saturday.
Assistant Coach Noor Ali, who put in a solid display in his first professional game after retirement last week, can be expected to feature again tonight and terrorise the flanks along with the likes of Yasir Hanapi, Jalal Jasim and Wahyudi Wahid.
The Eagles will still miss Fabian Kwok, Shah Hirul, Khairulnizam Jumaat and Delwinder Singh through injuries.
It was a hard-fought draw last week and the Eagles may have only had two days to rest but of late, the Eagles have shown that they are a team not easily downed and should never be written off. We may have lost 3-0 to the Warriors previously but that will not be at the back of anyone’s minds tonight.
The stadium may be theirs but the Eagles will not care.
Bring them on!
