Last minute own goal stunned Eagles

It was a match not to be missed. The Jalan Besar Stadium opened its arms to the many eager fans that came to support their colours. As the evening drew near, Geylang International and Albirex Niigata grew more restless to battle it out on the field. Excitement crackled in the air as the time for kick off approached.
From the kick off, Albirex Niigata took front and center as they took possession of the ball. The game started off slow as the Albirex Niigata players taunted their opponents by remaining a steady flow of passes between each player.
Things started heating up as Albirex Niigata drew blood first. Without a break in rhythm, the Albirex Niigata players made their way through Geylang International’s defense. It was Kazuki Sakamoto who scored the first goal for Albirex Niigata in the 17th minute of the first half.
The rest of the first half remained stagnant. Geylang International was able to gain possession of the ball every once in a while. There were a couple of near misses but their passes were blocked by Albirex Niigata’s defense. Geylang International put up a good fight and showed great footwork as they worked their way around the field. They pushed their limits and worked hard against Albirex Niigata. However, it was Albirex Niigata who continued to dominate till the half time whistle.
As the second half began, both teams started the match on the offensive, as they were hungry for a win. Geylang International was not going to finish without a fight. There was more action between both teams in this half, increasing the tempo of the game. Players were getting rough and more aggressive as the time on the clock was ticking away.
