Michael King and Jozef Kaplan both scored a goal in each half in yesterday’s encounter against Courts Young Lions to give the Eagles all three points.
Vice captain Syed Fadhil returned to his right back position and Rhema was moved back into centerback with Shahril Alias. Prime League player and former St. Patrick’s School captain Basil Gerard Teo returned to his anchor role in midfield.
The Eagles started off with some good chances, including a shot from Mun Seung Man that cannoned off the hosts’ crossbar. Michael King also had a shot that rocked the crossbar. But efforts finally paid off when a freekick was earned outside Courts Young Lions box for a foul on Mun Seung Man.
Michael King stepped up for the freekick and his shot was deflected off the Courts Young Lions wall, leaving Syazwan Buhari stranded.
Jozef Kaplan finished the game off with 15 minutes on the clock with a flick on header from former St. Patrick’s School captain Basil Gerard Teo freekick, sending the travelling Ultras celebrating.
On the other side, Eagles captain Yazid Yasin performed yet another match winning performance, diving across the goalmouth to block shots after shots from Courts Young Lions.
The win lifted the Eagles off the bottom two positions. Eagles will travel to Jurong West Stadium on 22 April 2012 to take on Gombak United for the next away fixture.
