Khairulnizam Jumahat: We will march on to climb the table

Geylang International pulled off a big victory when they defeated Tampines Rovers in the Eastern Derby. One player, who was over the moon with the victory, was Geylang International’s full back Khairulnizam Jumahat. The 24 year old, has been with the Eagles since he was 17.
A Geylang player for almost seven years, Khairulnizam was a visibly happy man when EAGLES TV had a post-match chat with him. He said: “I am really proud of the team. Again we played to our strengths and instructions of the coach.”
He continued: “Of course, winning a big team like Tampines is a big achievement for the team.”
Khairulnizam has been included in the starting line up as of late after patiently waiting for his chance on the bench earlier in the season. His inclusion has certainly beefed up the backline. When asked on what the clean sheet against the defending champions meant to him, he responded, “I am really happy. Not only the defence. The whole team played a good game today.”
With the Eagles enjoying consecutive wins, the top six beckons for Khairulnizam’s side. At the moment, the defender is focused of the future. With optimism, he said: “From here, I think we will march on to climb the table.”
