Eagles forced draw with Albirex U18

Geylang United hosted the Albirex Niigata Under-18 team in the latter’s final match of their training tour in Singapore yesterday. The Japanese club had came into the game unbeaten in their first three games, beating Tanjong Pagar United’s COE U-18 side 0-10, Home United’s S.League side 2-4 and Albirex Niigata (S) 0-2.

Hard running Slovakian midfielder Jozef Kaplan opened the scoring halfway through the first half with a header off Englishman Michael King’s corner. Albirex equalized in the final kick of the first half to bring the score to 1-1.

A good game of football was played by both sides under the hot sun yesterday evening. The Eagles displayed good football, passing the ball around the middle of the park, trying to find their way through.
