Eagles play Pahang F.A in friendly!

Yesterday evening at 5pm, the Eagles invited Pahang F.A down to Bedok Stadium for a friendly game which two of of Geylang’s new trialists participated in. Head Coach, Kannan, started with a very different line-up from the previous match against Loyola Meralco.
Key player Jozef Kaplan was called up for the First XI vs S.League All-Stars match so replacing him in the midfield was Shah Hirul lining up alongside Mubarak. The Eagles started brightly but Pahang’s players were pacy on the counter-attack and it wasn’t long before we found ourselves on the back foot.
A cross from left winger Gopi found one of Pahang’s striker unmarked and keeper Yazid Yassin was helpless to keep the ball out. Eagles soon found themselves 2-0 down at the break after Pahang again slotted home after some dangerous attacking build up by its midfielders. Soon after, Brazilian striker Maycon scored from range for Pahang taking the score to 3-0 at the break.
The Eagles started the second half brightly after the team made several substitutions at half time. New trial player, Alex combined well with other players but just lacked finishing touch to put the ball at the back of the net after finding himself with an open header and a 1-on-1 situation.
Substitute keeper, Muhammad Ridhuan then made an outstanding save to deny Pahang a fourth goal after one of its players managed a strong header in the box. However, the Eagles were soon caught at the break again after a quick counter-attacking play by Pahang.
GUFC wants to thank Pahang F.A and its players for its participation in the game and all the best in your upcoming games!
