Balestier Khalsa FC vs Geylang International FC match preview!
By Eagles Admin on 26 February 2013
With both teams suffering the heaviest defeats of the first round of matches in the S-League, the Eagles will be looking to make amends by setting things right this evening at the Toa Payoh Stadium. Coach Kanan will be looking to bulk up his defence after shipping 5 goals against Tampines Rovers earlier last week.
” Against Tampines, we didn’t play well in defense although our attack has shown some positive signs. Against Balestier Khalsa, we will be looking to keep a water tight defense as like Tampines Rovers, Balestier has some physically intimidating players too. Also, its important we take our chances as it will ultimately prove the difference between winning and losing. For example, although we have majority of the possession against Tampines Rovers, we did not manage to convert.”
On the other hand, although the Tigers may have lost to Tanjong Pagar three goals to one during the last fixture at Jalan Besar Stadium, the Tigers have hit the post twice and were unlucky not to draw level after a good display in the second half.
Balestier head coach Darren Stewart will also be looking forward to star defender Paul Cunninghman’s return to the side and this will defintely boost Tigers’ chances of keeping the first clean sheet of the season. Nevertheless, the Eagles will be looking to Shotaro Ihata and Jozef Kaplan to once again spear-head the Eagles’ attack!
