5 Questions in 5 Minutes with Eagles’ Midfield Enforcer Shah Hirul

Question 1 –

How do you feel about the victory against the current league leaders, Brunei DPMM and also recording a second consecutive victory to climb off bottom spot?

Ans: Honestly, it was a great victory against the current leaders, Brunei DPMM. We were trailing in the first-half, but with sheer determination and focus, we got the deserved victory. We knew that, another loss would condemn us to be bottom of the table for yet another week. Hence, we worked our socks off and it paid off with a morale boosting 2-1 victory. Overall, we were compact at the back and played good attacking football upfront, to reward the fans.

Question 2 –

Whom is your all-time favourite S.League and World of Football player? Why?

Ans: In the S.League, my favourite player is undoubtedly, Rudy Khairon. I seen him play for Geylang when I was in the youth set-up, years ago. I was truly amazed the way he distributes his passes with his awesome vision. Furthermore, his composure with the ball is really a class above the rest.

In the World of Football, it would be Scott Parker. His work-rate and box to box running captivated me from young. Furthermore, his aggressive nature to win the ball in the middle of the park is truly enjoyable to watch

Question 3 –

The Eagles face the Courts Young Lions next and do you believe that Geylang can get another win and record three straight victories for the first time this season?

Ans : Courts Young Lions have improved leaps and bounds under their new Head Coach, Juergen Raab. We too had a rough patch and have finally found our form. I believe that a win is possible against CYL as we are confident and motivated after the two superb victories against the powerhouses. The team also want to finish the league with a bang, so we are not aiming for three straight win but instead undefeated till the season concludes.

Question 4 –

How do you spend you off days and leisure time? Any hobbies or pastime?

Ans: I will usually spend my time with my family members. We would watching movies at home or either get out of home for some sight-seeing or visit the Singapore hotspots. My hobbies would be definitely playing futsal or watching South Korean reality show – Running Man online. HAHAHA !!!

Question 5 –

Please sum up your experience this season with Geylang in less than 15 words?

Ans:  Superb Teammates; Great Training Environment; Should Have Been Higher Up In The Table
