5 Questions in 5 Minutes with Eagles’ Flamboyant Defender Anaz Hadee

Question 1 –

It has been a month-long break after the RHB Singapore Cup Preliminary Round victory against Lao Police FC. What has Coach Jorg implemented or introduced during the training sessions to improve the Eagles’ game play for the second-half of the 2015 season ?

Ans: After taking a few days of break, Coach Jorg resumed training sessions with some light-hearted activities like relay sprints and juggling competitions. Soon after, we took it up a notch and started to work on our set-pieces and off-the-ball movement. During each and every training session, we always attempt to improve ourselves as a team to escalate the standard of our football.

Question 2 –

The past few editions of the League Cup, has certainly staged many surprises and upsets to various teams. Your thoughts about National Football League outfit, Singapore Recreational Club and its squad which consists several ex-S.League players like Shariff Samat, Firman Hanif and etc ?

Ans: We should never underestimate any team at all. According to me, SRC is indeed a good squad and if I am not mistaken they are currently unbeaten and are the leaders of the National Football League Division 1. Cup games has always been a different ball game as every team will give their best to advance to the next round and one mistake can cause a team to be eliminated.

Question 3 –

How have the Eagles geared up for The New Paper League Cup 2015, opening match against the Singapore Recreational Club FC ?

Ans: I believe that SRC are no pushovers and including the other teams, Hougang United and Brunei DPMM, they will be fiercely competing for a spot in the Semi-Finals. We have to be disciplined and focused on our performance to qualify for the next round. Starting with SRC, we will treat them like any other S.League team and a positive favourable result, is what we truly desire.

Question 4 –

In 2014, Geylang International crashed out in the Cup Semi-Finals after losing out to Brunei DPMM in a Penalty Shootout. How far do you think the Eagles can soar this time round and are you confident in securing one of the top two spots in Group A to advance to the Semi-Finals ?

Ans: The Eagles will take one game at a time and I believe that with our determination and team-work, we stand a good chance to reach the Grand Finals. However, we cannot discount any team we meet, starting with the opening match against, SRC.

Question 5 –

Any words to the dedicated Eagles’ Fans and Eagles’ Ultras whom will be tuning in to our news feeds or even making their way to Jalan Besar Stadium to rally on their favourite team, GEYLANG INTERNATIONAL ?

Ans: I would like to say a big THANK YOU, to all fans, supporters, friends and family members whom are constantly behind us for all our games. Despite us getting a win, draw or loss, I really appreciate each and every on of you cheering us on till the final whistle. Honestly, the cheers and support are a constant source of motivation and we will give our all in every game to soar to greater heights. GeylangBoleh!
