5 Questions in 5 Minutes with Eagles’ Assiduous Wing-Back Anaz Hadee

Question 1 –

Geylang International had an exhilarating game against Balestier Khalsa, which ended in a 2-2 draw, last week. Your thoughts about the game and do you feel that it was a point gained or two points dropped?

Ans: The game was truly an entertaining one, with end to end action for the full duration. We did well in the opening minutes and the first goal by Hafiz Osman was magnificent. However, defensive lapses allowed the Tigers to claw back with two goals in quick succession. Nevertheless, the team showed true grit and character to equalize through Shah Hirul’s bazooka effort. In the second-half, we failed to take our chances, despite creating numerous chances at goal. According to me, I truly felt that we had lost not only two points, but four points in total, as I am taking into account the Warriors’ game as well. The points are not reflective of our performance at all, as we could have clinched maximum points in our previous two fixtures.

Question 2 –

Geylang are currently experiencing a dry spell as they have not recorded a win in the S.League since the month of May.  Are you confident of getting the desired three points against the Cheetahs?

Ans: The club, players, coaches, staff and fans are all eagerly awaiting for the three points. The Eagles promise that they will do everything they can, to put up a good performance and attempt to clinch the much sought after win. We have stepped our training sessions and our coaches have devised a game-plan for Friday’s clash. I believe that, if we focus and stick to the instructions our wishes might come true, this week. I understand that they have made six changes inclusive of four foreign players during the mid-season transfer window. However, I am not worried as I am confident with my team-mates’ abilities and I believe each one of us will be hungry for the elusive victory.

Question 3 –

Please share with us about your life outside of Football and Geylang International.
Your Favourite –  i) Pastime , ii) Hangout Spot, iii) Exercise, iv) Food & v) Player in the World of Football

Ans: i) Pastime – Obviously the Gym, is my second home. I always head to the gym without fail, to improve my physique, built and stamina. ii) Hangout Spot – Holland Village. iii) Exercise – Swimming. It is an awesome cardio work-out, has completely no-impact on your joints, and it is a calorie-torching total-body workout. iv) Food – It will have to be my self-made, Aglio Oglio. Anybody Want Recipe? v) Player – It would be Netherlands’ international, Marco Van Basten because of his touches of class and clinical finishing.

Question 4 –

Anaz, if you happen to be stranded on a deserted island, which three team-mates would you wish to be alongside you and Why?

Ans: Hahaha. I would definitely choose Syed Thaha, Zulkifli Suzliman and Huzaifah Abdul Aziz. In summary, the trio would be entertaining me throughout my abandonment. Syed Thaha can make me laugh throughout my stay with his jokes and funny antics with any item on the island. Ali (Zulkifli) is someone I can rely on and he listens to me all the time. Finally, we come to Huzai (Huzaifah) whom will be able to make time fly with his utter nonsense yet interesting conversations. LOL.

Question 5 –

Shah Hirul and Hafiz Osman got their first Eagles’ goal this season, against Balestier with superb finishes. Would you be able to get your name on the score-sheet against Hougang or if not, by the end of the season?

Ans: Firstly, congratulations to the both of them and the goals were extraordinary. I honestly, have been waiting to score for the Eagles. I really hope, I can end the goal drought soon and possibly score on Friday at Jalan Besar Stadium. Nevertheless, even if I am not able to score, at the end of the day, if the Eagles soar to a victory, I will be delighted. Before the 20th Great Eastern Yeo’s S.League season concludes, I seriously want to score a goal. Fingers crossed! Hehe.
