15th Eagles Golf Day a success!

On 17th October, Geylang United held its 15th Golf Day at Orchid Country Club. The primary purpose of the Golf Day was to raise funds for the club so the club can continue developing its Youth Development programme which has produced local stars such as Fandi Ahmad and Lionel Lewis among many others.

Secondly, the funds raised during the Golf Fundraising event will go towards the club’s adopted charities such as the Muhammadiyah Welfare Home and the Spastic Chidlren’s Association of Singapore.

In total, 23k has been raised on the day itself and much of it has to go a very generous 10k flight from Singapore Pools. During the golf event, Mr Lee Yi Shyan, Member of Parliament of East Coast GRC, is very kind to take time off grace our golf event with his presence.

After the golf, the dinner has been graced with many distinguished guests such as Mr Zainudin Nordin, President of FAS, Lim Chin, CEO of FAS, Professor Ho Peng Kee, Advisor of FAS. Other guests include former internationals Samsudin Rahmat, Quah Kim Song, Don Ang and Ho Kwang Hock.

Lim Chin, CEO of Football Association of Singapore, said of the Golf Day fundraiser dinner, “It was more than just a golf fund raising event. It was a memorable event that showcased the pride of Geylang United FC with the gathering of former players who are all Ex Internationals and the present rising stars who will one day also make it to the realm of their predecessors. Go Eagles, continue to rise and soar always.”

Last but not least, Geylang United wishes to thank all the sponsors who help make this day possible! The funds raised will be utilized wisely to ensure the well-being of the club and the players.
